Website Launched Demonstrating How To Use Federal Signal Products to Fight COVID-19

Oak Brook, Illinois, March 16, 2020 — Federal Signal Corporation (NYSE:FSS) (the “Company”) today announced its launch of a website dedicated to cleaning and sanitizing efforts in response to the coronavirus (“COVID-19”) outbreak – www.fedsigresponse.com. In launching the website, the Company is reminding new and existing customers, dealers and end users that the installed base of products manufactured by the Company’s Environmental Solutions Group can be used in efforts to clean and sanitize outdoor public areas, such as recreational spaces, parks and museums. In addition, these products can be used to sanitize other vehicles, like buses or railcars, as well as cleaning bridges, train stations and any other outdoor areas. These products include:

  • Vactor truck-mounted machines that combine a vacuum system with large liquid storage and liquid pumping capability. They have an exclusive multi-flow capability that can safely provide pressurized liquid flows to single or multiple hand-held devices or fixed nozzles at pressures from 0 to 2500 pounds per square inch (“PSI”) and flows from 0 to 80 gallons per minute (“GPM”). They store up to 800 feet of large diameter hose allowing them to conduct liquids to remote or hard-to-reach areas like subway or elevated platforms or behind large structures. In addition, the on-board hydraulic systems can be used to power other tools.

  • TRUVAC truck-mounted machines that combine a vacuum system with large liquid storage and liquid pumping capability. They have variable liquid flow capability that can safely provide pressurized liquid flows to single or multiple hand-held devices or fixed nozzles at pressures from 0 to 2500 PSI and flows up to 25 GPM. They normally incorporate the ability to heat the liquid to temperatures nearing 200°F. In addition, the on-board hydraulic systems can be used to power other tools.

  • Elgin Sweeper truck-mounted machines with liquid storage and liquid pumping capability. They have flow capability to provide low pressure liquid flows to multiple nozzles and can do so while the machine is moving at any speed.  Many sweeper models also incorporate vacuum systems to collect materials. In addition, the on-board hydraulic systems can be used to power other tools.

  • Jetstream trailer-mounted, self-powered liquid pumps that incorporate liquid storage. They have variable liquid flow capability that can safely provide pressurized liquid flows to single or multiple hand-held devices or fixed nozzles at flows up to 50 GPM or more. Being self-powered, they can be towed while pumping on or off the road.

“Our products move material, clean infrastructure and protect the communities where we work and live, uniquely positioning them to help mitigate the community transmission of COVID-19,” said Jennifer L. Sherman, President and Chief Executive Officer. “In these uncertain times, protecting the safety and wellbeing of the public is more important than ever. We stand ready to help new and existing customers; federal, state and local authorities; and the broader community in any way that we can.”
